My fiance and I stayed here for Valentine's day this year for a romantic getaway, and we could not have been more impressed! The house was so tastefully renovated and furnished. We have stayed at historic inns over the years and a lot of them seemed to use the history to draw you in, but the execution was poor. Everything here during our stay was absolutely fantastic. This was a labor of love for the owner, who was also our host. And believe me she paid attention to every detail. The room was updated with luxury fixtures, every door and piece of trim was both new and authentic to the time period. Solid wood doors, flooring, carpenters wainscoting etc. The furniture was new and expensive. The basement was designed and decorated to look like an old English pub. The food was better than the classy restaurants we ate at in the city. The chef came out and introduced himself and made us an incredible breakfast. The hostess sat with us and chatted about restoring old homes over gourmet coffee. I can't say enough good things about our stay, it was incredible and we will definitely be back in the future.

We had a wonderful weekend at this beautifully restored inn with so much attention to every detail. We stayed in the Lily room which was very comfortable - king size bed, lots of natural lights, updated bathroom. Breakfast in the sun porch was amazing. Had a drink in the basement pub which is an incredible space. So cozy! The location is great - so close to all that Detroit has to offer but in a quiet and beautiful historic neighborhood. Rachel, the owner, gave us a tour including a history of the home and its renovation. This would be a great place for a family gathering, wedding, corporate event, etc. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed at the Stearns Historic Inn the night before and night of our wedding in October! We rented two rooms, one for the girls to get ready in and one for the guys to get ready in. We rented the Rose suite for the girls, and it was absolutely perfect. It was large and spacious, but also cozy and intimate. I adored the large window and it was perfect for getting our hair & makeup done using plenty of natural light. I also LOVED the large bathroom and jacuzzi tub! It was immaculate and luxurious. There was plenty of room for all of us girls to get ready in the morning of our wedding. The bed was SO comfy, and the fireplace was wonderful. We did our first look and photos around the house and the pictures were a dream. As a historian, I adored all of the beautiful hard work Rachel & her husband put into restoring the home. It is done so masterfully and with detail and comfort in mind. Our stay included breakfast by the amazing chef. Both days I tried something new and both meals were delicious. Rachel & her staff were so accommodating and made our stay there wonderful and memorable. I’m grateful they were able to be a part of our big day and the pictures and memories will last a lifetime.

My husband and I came to Detroit to celebrate his birthday. The Frederick Stearns House Historic Inn was a Beautiful place to stay!! Rachel couldn't have been more welcoming! The Beauty and details of the House are incredible! We have never stayed in a bed and breakfast with a more comfortable bed and pillows, thank you!! Chef Shanon made a Beautiful breakfast! Looking forward to coming back!!

The Frederick Stearn House Was the perfect choice for getting ready for my daughters wedding day. It Started with an amazing breakfast from chef Shannon, who is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. The amazing rooms and the details in the home added to the elegance of my daughters vintage wedding. The first look on the staircase was breathtaking, The photos around the library, the ballroom, the speakeasy and all the nooks and crannies added to the magic of the Frederick Stearn House and my daughters wedding. Rachel and her staff were terrific and treated us like family. I would not hesitate to recommend them to the highest degree. Everything was 100% perfect.

This is a Beautiful old inn decorated with loving care. A lot of work went into the detail of the restoration of this historical inn. It has a beautiful garden designed by the owner. The garden has a lovely sitting area to enjoy a coffee or a cocktail. It is a very peaceful place to relax. The beds are very comfortably, and sheets are soft. The bartender makes a great cocktail, and the owner are very welcoming. You don't want to miss this place if you come to Detroit mi
